Professor Dr. Ho Chong Mun, a tenured professor at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), obtained his bachelor and master’s degrees in Mathematics from the University of Malaya.

He later pursued doctoral level studies in Economics at Yokohama National University under a Japanese government scholarship. A passionate educator with a keen interest in Mathematics, he has invented numerous innovative educational products and won awards both at local and international levels including a Silver Medal at the 32 nd International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva in 2004. As the copyright owner of these research products, he has trademarked several of his inventions and produced them for public benefit.

Professor Dr. Ho is also an established academic researcher and writer with more than 30 of his research papers included in the Scopus Indexed database and three textbooks to his name. Since 2004, he has held various leadership positions in UMS including as Head of Programme in Mathematics with Economics in the Faculty of Science & Natural Resources, and Director of the UMS Centre for Industry Relations. He is currently the Director of the university’s Centre for Internationalisation and Global Engagement (UMS-Global).
